Muang Kung Village, one of Thailand\u2019s most well-known pottery villages<\/strong>, has been told its history by the ancestors from generation to generations that their ancestors who settled down in this village were Tai people who had been herded from Mong Phu and Mong Hsat in Kengtung, currently is town in Shan State, Burma.\u00a0 It was an escape from an invasion of Burmese soldiers.\u00a0Here you will see and learn more about traditions of Lanna Pottery (Northern Pottery).<\/strong>\u00a0The most popular product is the traditional earthenware jug (Nam Ton) as this keeps water naturally cool that has narrow top, bulge middle.\u00a0 We will walk to local houses to see their lifestyle and learn how to produce their products from the local people.\u00a0You will make 1 product which it takes about 1\u00bd -2 hours before taking it home.<\/strong>\u00a0Finally, we will visit\u00a0Ton Kwen Temple (Intharawat\u00a0Temple)<\/strong>\u00a0that is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna style architecture in Northern Thailand. The complex consists of a viharn, an open pavilion and a large open mondop. The temple is one of the very few remaining wooden temples in its original state in Chiang Mai province. The temple is under the care of the Thai Fine Arts Department.
