Overview

We depart from your hotel to Hmong hill tribe village which takes about 1 hours along rolling green hills. The Hmong Hill Tribe originally comes from Southern China. The first Hmong villages were established in Northern Thailand on the end of the 19th century. First, we visit the “Community Products Center” a fantastic workshop where the locals produce clothing and accessories using traditional materials and techniques. The Hmong of Chiang Mai Province still grow hemp and painstakingly produce woven cloth from the plant’s fibrous stalks. The hemp cloth is then colored using natural dyes produced from the indigo plant and other native species. The cloth is then decorated using a batik technique that uses natural bee’s wax. After that, we walk around village to see their lifestyles. Then, drive to Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. Here is one of the most renowned gardens in Thailand and a major hub for scientific research. Visitors can view beautiful Thai orchids and palms while walking around the expansive grounds. These extensive gardens have magnificent greenhouses with a large variety of ferns, orchids, bromeliads that are endemic to a tropical climate and also plants that grow in arid zones.
